Lexington and FD look north for expansion plans
Clare O'Connor 01-May-08
Lexington Communications is understood to be opening a public affairs shop in the north of England.
Headhunters are said to have been contacting senior PROs at northern agencies in the hope of hiring an MD for a Manchester branch of the lobbying outfit.
Lexington is believed to be looking to take advantage of a property boom in the area, offering planning support to regional developers.
About a third of PRWeek's Top 150 agencies outside London are north of Manchester (PRWeek, 25 April), with Manchester, Leeds, Cheshire and Scotland representing burgeoning markets.
It has also been rumoured that fellow public affairs specialist FD has been looking to branch out with a North West office.
FD already has interest in the northern property comms sector, having bought specialist development PR outfit Tamesis in 2005.
Nobody at FD or Lexington was available for comment.
