Walker: associate director role

Gemma O'Reilly 08-May-08

Healthcare shop Red Door Communications has poached AstraZeneca global brand manager Kirsty Walker as its associate director.

Walker joins the agency after more than five years in marketing, sales and comms roles at the pharma firm.

She was promoted to global brand manager for AstraZeneca's anti-cholesterol drug Crestor in May 2006. Walker was Red Door's point of contact for Crestor in 2003.

Before AstraZeneca, she spent six years working in the healthcare divisions of Hill & Knowlton, Burson-Marsteller and Chandler Chicco Agency, gaining experience in consumer marketing comms, public affairs and crisis management in her various roles.

Walker joins fellow associate directors Tracy Evans, Jane Seaton and Rob Britt on the Red Door management team.

Red Door continues to handle the PR activity for AstraZeneca's Crestor drug and its antipsychotic medication Seroquel.

Walker will report to Red Door managing director Catherine Warne and work on the agency's Sanofi-Aventis and Pfizer business in the UK, as well as the global account for Bausch & Lomb.

LOL! Poached by Red Door???!!!

If any other companies want to 'poach' AstraZeneca Global Marketing staff then now is the time to do it... considering the majority of them are being made redundant.

Congratulations Kirsty you got a job before the market was flooded with the rest of the Alderley rats leaving the sinking ship!!
