Ailing french bank gets comms boss
David Quainton 03-Apr-08
PARIS: The largest retail banking group in France has brought in a new head of comms as it feels the effects of the credit crunch.
Credit Agricole has promoted Alexandra Rocca from a similar role at its retail arm LLC. She joined in 2005 from the Galeries Lafayette department store where she was deputy head of group comms.
Before that she held roles at department store Prin-temps and medical gas firm Air Liquide.
Last month Credit posted a fourth-quarter loss, as it booked large write-downs due to the global credit crunch and said it was not planning any major acquisitions. The bank made a bigger-than-expected net loss of £655m.
