The Co-op is to sell only Fairtrade fresh pineapples from this month. The pineapples are sourced from an area of high unemployment in Costa Rica by AgroFair UK, and the Fairtrade mark means a fair price is paid to the growers. The Co-op's sales of Fairtrade products increased by 180% last year.
