Premier Christian Radio has appealed to listeners to help it raise the £650,000 a year it needs to roll out on national digital radio. The station currently broadcasts on medium wave and DAB in the London area, as well as on digital TV and online.
20th Century Fox is promoting its comedy 500 Days of Summer with a cross-media campaign using Spotify, Absolute Radio and ShortList. The push will drive people to a microsite, hosted by Absolute Radio, where they can create a Spotify playlist to win tickets to UK music festivals.
Commercial radio listenership rose 3.2% year on year, to 31.97m. BBC stations attracted 34.09m listeners, up from 33.32m in the same period last year. Digital radio took a 21% share of total listening.
Absolute Radio lost 0.1% of its audience compared to the previous quarter. The station, which changed its name from Virgin Radio last September, had 1.69m listeners nationally, down from 2.4m in the first half of 2008.
Magic 105.4 was the most-listened-to station in London for the 10th consecutive quarter, with 2.05m listeners. This was up from 2m a year ago. The Bauer-owned station's share of the audience was 6.5%, down from 7.4% in the same period in 2008.
95.8 Capital FM has taken the top commercial breakfast slot in London. The show, hosted by Johnny Vaughan and Lisa Snowdon, attracted 1.15m listeners a week, up from 1.07m in the previous quarter.
Heart attracted 1.89m listeners across its 33-station network. This was down 3.7% on the previous quarter, but up 6.9% year on year. It is now the third most-listened-to station in London.
