Consumers are more likely to recall a brand name and engage with an ad's message if it has been recommended to them by their friends online, according to new research commissioned by social video platform Unruly.
Boots Opticians' Eye Check app has surged to the top of the charts this week, leapfrogging the Coca-Cola Christmas app, which claimed second place.
Heineken names Jacco van der Linden as UK marketing director, while Microsoft appoints former Mail on Sunday sales director Simon Davies, in this week's people moves in advertising, marketing and media.
