American Express has handed a direct marketing and national

sales and marketing director. He joins from Scottish Courage where he
was director of sales. Prior to that Finch held a number of finance and

Eurostar has announced a 20% increase in revenue for the third
quarter of 1998 compared with last year. Managing director Hamish Taylor
said this trend would be boosted by its new ad campaign as well as
short-break package product Eurostar Holidays Direct.
Concern about the trend toward direct-sell holidays has driven
travel agent Going Places to invest over pounds 10m in a computer system
which it believes will improve its customer service.
