Mencap is aiming to generate publicity for a team of six extreme runners raising money for the charity. The six have set off for the Sahara Desert to take part in the Marathon des Sables - dubbed 'the toughest race on earth'. Mencap will target sports magazines, disability titles and regional press.
Asthma UK has launched a campaign highlighting the numbers of deaths that result from asthma. The 'Don't Wait' campaign shows that more than 1,300 people die each year of asthma. This is more than cervical cancer and testicular cancer combined. The media will be targeted to raise awareness and funds.
Save the Children has teamed up with The Giant Sleepover to raise funds for children in emergency situations.
