The Guide Association has named two well-known PR figures as ambassadors: Bell Pottinger Consulting senior consultant Jane Atkinson, and Talk Loud PR managing director Addie Churchill. Ambassadors help publicise work undertaken by guides.

STOP PRESS: Ogilvy lands PeopleNews.com PR brief

People-News.com, the celebrity and entertainment website, has hired Ogilvy PR Worldwide to handle corporate and business-to-business PR. Director of e-commerce, Barbara McCall, will head the account reporting to PeopleNews.com PR and marketing manager, Charlotte Weston.

STOP PRESS: IPR submits to Holyrood on lobby regulation

The Scottish arm of the IPR has made submissions to the Holyrood parliament s standards committee on the regulation of lobbyists. The IPR favours a voluntary code of conduct based on self-regulation, but made clear it would co-operate fully with statutory regulation if that is what Parliament decides.

The Government s Communications White Paper spelled out the formation of industry regulator, Ofcom, and a consumer panel to advise it. The Paper calls for the industry to propose a code of practice, and pledges to publicise the code so consumers know their rights and what to do if they are dissatisfied.

Top UK financial PR firm Brunswick has hired ex-Finsbury senior consultant Tim Grey. Grey joins next March as a senior associate partner. He left Finsbury last week after four years with the firm. His remit and team are yet to be decided.
