since October, dropping to 13 employees from 22. The agency said it had
made a series of redundancies 'as a result of the economic climate'.

PUBLIC AFFAIRS: The Tobacco Manufacturers Alliance is to lose
public affairs director John Carlisle at the end of this month. Carlisle
will now work as an independent political consultant, having joined the
TMA in 1997 after 18 years in Parliament. He will continue as ad hoc
adviser to the TMA.
