Nicolas Bernard is joining Alfa Romeo as UK marketing director. The appointment is an about-turn for Alfa Romeo, which scrapped its UK marketing director post, held by Jeff Culkin, last May. Bernard was previously marketing director for Fiat Switzerland.

Tropicana has promoted Rick Gomez to chief marketing officer. He succeeds Ron Coughlin who has been moved to PepsiCo International, where he will replace Antonio Lucio.

Teletext has appointed Ash Makkar as head of marketing. He replaces Simon Sikorski, who has joined ad agency McCann-Erickson. Makkar has previously held roles including new business director at St Luke's, brand director at BSkyB and account director at Duckworth Finn Grubb Waters.

FMCG company Church & Dwight has named Bruce Fleming chief marketing officer. Fleming was previously chief executive, president and director of BriteSmile and is a former Johnson & Johnson marketer.

Channel 4 has appointed WCRS planning director Cameron Saunders head of marketing for its digital channels, More4 and E4. Saunders takes on some of the responsibilities held by Rufus Radcliffe, who was promoted to Channel 4's head of marketing in October.

Richard Beckett is to join UBS Global Asset Management as head of UK retail marketing. Beckett, who had been UK retail marketing manager at Schroders until December, will be responsible for all UK communications initiatives. He will report to UBS managing director and head of UK retail Graham Kane.
