BBC Worldwide has promoted Duncan Swain from editor-in-chief to editorial director for its digital businesses. He will oversee the editorial and design direction of the publisher's websites, including radiotimes.com and topgear.com.

AOL has promoted Andy Jonesco, previously senior vice-president of audience for AOL UK, to the new position of UK managing director. He will be responsibility for running AOL UK business operations and the aol.co.uk portal, as well as its partnership with Carphone Warehouse.

Brian McBride, UK managing director of T-Mobile, is leaving the mobile network at the end of the year to join online retailer Amazon.com as its UK chief. McBride, who has been at T-Mobile for two-and-a-half years, is being replaced by Jim Hyde, T-Mobile US' sales director.
