ONEWORD: In what it said to be a first for radio, Oneword, the
digital speech-only station, is broadcasting a crossword. Consisting
solely of 'audio clues', the crossword show is produced by Louise
Collins and runs three times each weekday for a month from 3 December.

Central News, the Carlton broadcasting operation that takes in
cities as far afield as Nottingham, Birmingham, Oxford and Swindon, has
appointed a new editor for its southern region.

BBC/DISNEY: BBC Magazines is to produce a variety of titles branded
by the entertainment group Disney Publishing Worldwide. Big Time, aimed
at seven to 11-year-olds, contains news and features. BBC Magazines
plans to launch three more regular Disney titles next year.

EMAP ELAN: Red magazine, the Emap Elan title that targets affluent,
urban thirtysomething women, is to hold a seminar 'How to talk to middle
youth' on 17 January 2002. Speakers include BBC2 controller Jane Root
and the writer and producer of ITV1's Cold Feet, Christina Langan and
David Nicholls.

NATMAGS: The National Magazine Company, which announced the closure
earlier this month of science magazine Focus (PRWeek, 9 November), has
now sold the title. It has been bought by Bristol-based Origin
Publishing, which owns ten consumer titles and 14 customer magazines.

GUARDIAN: Learn.co.uk, the Guardian-backed educational website, has
moved into teacher recruitment by offering online ads and a jobsearch.
MD Colin Hughes said the move added a revenue stream which was 'logical
and sustainable'. The site is aimed at schools, local education
authorities and teachers.

HEART 106.2: Heart 106.2 is to be the official London radio partner
for raceforlife 2002, a series of fundraising events for women in aid of
the Imperial Cancer Research Fund. Eight 5km runs or walks will be held
