HONG KONG: The PR account for Singapore Tourism Board in Hong Kong and
Southern China has been awarded to Bentley Porter Novelli. Incumbent
Ogilvy PR was among the 15 agencies that pitched for the brief, which
includes issues management, media relations, and trade and consumer
promotions.

CHICAGO: Weber Shandwick Worldwide has emerged from a five-way pitch
with a one-year contract from the Dairy Management Institute. The brief
is to quell Americans' fears about 'mad cow' and foot-and-mouth disease.

HAMBURG: The decision to net PR agency help to motivate citizens to take
part in Hamburg's council elections this September has come unstuck -
because councillors could not decide on the specifications of the brief.
Nine agencies were asked to re-pitch to the city parliament in
September.

PARIS: Lancel, the luxury goods subsidiary of Richemont, has appointed
Anne-Catherine Grimnal as communications director. Grimnal, who reports
to chairman Joel Armary, was previously communications director for
Lancel's rival, Vuitton. She replaces Diane Jannarilli.

LONDON: UK-based Flagship Group has acquired Good Relations (GR), an
independent PR firm in India. GR has five offices throughout India and
employs 50 PROs, who work on client accounts that include Cathay
Pacific, Airbus and Sun Microsystems. GR was launched by Flagship
chairman Tony Good.

HONG KONG: New World Services - an arm of one of Hong Kong's biggest
conglomerates, New World Group - has appointed its first head of
corporate communications. Kwan Chuk-Fai, formerly head of corporate
communications for New World's First Bus concern, takes the post.

COLOGNE: Ford has appointed Erik Walner as head of corporate
communications for its German operation. His appointment completes a
major restructure of Ford's communications. Walner was head of external
communications at energy group RWE.

PARIS: PR agency Bates France is set to become the first French
communications consultancy to advertise on national TV - by sponsoring a
national weather report. The agency's logo will adorn each weekend
bulletin on 24-hour cable and satellite news channel La Chaine
Information.

Argentine affiliate, with a possible buyout imminent. Consultores has
