After four months of interviewing more than 20 senior PROs, Consolidated Communications has finally filled its vacant MD post - handing the top role to its deputy MD.

Nick Clark has worked at Consolidated since 2003, becoming deputy MD last May.

Clark was appointed to the MD role this week, replacing Sarah Robinson who was ousted in October 2007. She has since joined recruitment company F1 Recruitment (PRWeek, 25 April).

Agency chairman Tim Adams kicked off a trawl for a successor in January. He interviewed 20 candidates personally, supported by search consultants.

Adams said: 'We've appointed Nick because we measured him against the best candidates in the industry and he came out on top.'

Before working at Consolidated, Clark was a board director at GCI London working on clients such as Budweiser
