WS Square Mile enlists McCool

Weber Shandwick Square Mile has appointed former UBS media relations director Steve McCool.

McCool, who had been working as a consultant for Credit Suisse First Boston's regional management and oversight group, joined WS Square Mile this month as an associate director.

He worked for UBS from 1999 to 2004, prior to which he spent seven years at Merrill Lynch in London as V-P of corporate strategy. His remit there also included the financial adviser's operations in the Nordic and Benelux regions.

McCool reports to WS Square Mile managing director Ian Bailey, who joined the firm last October (PRWeek, 13 October 2005).
