Speaker biographies

Liane Pannell Head of Internal Communications, NSPCC

Liane has held senior internal communications roles in the private and charity sector, managing large scale change programmes and developing new ways to engage staff. Over the past 2 and a half years at the NSPCC, Liane and her team have built new internal comms channels from scratch, including a quarterly e-magazine for staff and volunteers and monthly manager cascade process. Liane is passionate about face to face being the most important method of communication with employees. Her team has instigated and delivered a series of ambassadorial workshops to improve staff confidence in talking about the NSPCC and most recently a series facilitated by the board to enable staff to have their say in developing the next organisational strategy. The team was recognized as the ‘Best in-house team’ at the #insidestory Awards from CIPR Inside in 2012

Chris Elmitt Managing Director, Crystal Interactive

Chris has been Crystal Interactive’s Managing Director since July 2006, and in that time has seen the evolution of the company from family business in the backwaters of Surrey to the dynamic, internationally-reputed company it is today. With a career in teaching and facilitation prior to joining the company, Chris is constantly exploring ways that Crystal technology can help create a better conversation in a meeting.

When he is not marvelling at the latest technical developments at Crystal, Chris facilitates a number of international conferences and is a regular speaker on the topic of audience engagement. Most memorable moment: following Boris Johnson on stage at a conference and dismantling his claim that London had more Michelin stars than Paris!
