Downing Street seeks new chief press officer
Downing Street: seeks new chief press officer
Matt Cartmell 08-Aug-08
A new role of chief press officer has been created at Downing Street.
When appointed, the new chief press officer will report to interim head of news Tom Hoskin. Downing Street is currently seeking candidates.
Hoskin explained that the new role is an amalgamation of a number of existing roles which have recently been vacated by press officers, adding that the role 'involves helping to run the press office day to day and ensuring that we have all we need to carry out the daily lobby briefings'.
Hoskin is covering for Emily Hands who is currently on maternity leave. Hoskin was previously head of news at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO).
