Madrid 2016 hires Bell Pottinger
David Quainton 08-May-08
The Madrid 2016 Olympic bid team has drafted in Bell Pottinger to help bring the Olympics back to Spain, 24 years after Barcelona.
Madrid will also work with Bell Pottinger sister firm Fast Track, as it competes against cities including Chicago, Rio de Janiero, Tokyo and Doha for the honour to follow London as Olympic host.
'The international competition to host the Olympics and Paralympics in 2016 will begin in June. Bell Pottinger and Fast Track will play an important strategic role in shaping our story and advising on how our messages will be heard by those who matter,' said Madrid 2016 bid CEO Mercedes Coghen.
Chime founder Lord Bell led the pitch, alongside Bell Pottinger chairman Kevin Murray.
