New head of news at Department of Health
James Sorene
Matt Cartmell 07-May-08
The Department of Health (DoH) has appointed a new head of news.
James Sorene was previously deputy head of news at the department. Sorene joined the DoH in February 2007, before which he was assistant director of news and strategy at the Home Office.
Sorene said: ‘The main focus is for us to continue to remind people that the NHS is doing a great job, that we’re making progress on hospital infections and that we’re launching a strategy tackling obesity.’
Sorene replaces Jon Hibbs, who has joined the National Treatment Agency (NTA) for a one-year secondment, working to communicate the Government’s new drug treatment strategy (PRWeek 2 May).
