UN goals not met says Action Aid

Kate Magee 28-Feb-08

Action Aid is releasing a report to push women's rights to the top of the agenda on International Women's Day.

On 7 March it will launch the report, which shows that the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) are off track and explains why women's rights are vital to achieve the targets by 2015.

The eight MDGs were agreed at the United Nations Millennium Summit in September 2000.

They range from halving poverty to providing universal primary education.

Action Aid will provide a series of interviews to local and regional radio as well as using case studies to get their point across.
