Kent veteran to bow out of role
Kent County Council is seeking a new comms chief after the current postholder handed in his notice after 27 years of service.
Gerry Moore will step down as head of comms on 31 December. He does not yet have a role to go to but is planning to enter private sector consultancy work.
The head of comms role involves overseeing a department of 17, reporting to chief executive Peter Gilroy.
Kent’s comms team laun-ched internet TV channel Kent TV in September. Other recent PR challenges have included handling the council’s response to the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust crisis and dealing with an outbreak of bluetongue on a farm near Ashford.
