Tesco lobbyist focuses on jobs
Tesco: aims to develop careers
Tesco’s top lobbyist attempted to convince Labour Party conference delegates that the supermarket is addressing deep-seated social problems in Britain.
Tesco has faced claims that it stifles consumer choice, bullies suppliers and destroys town centres.
At a fringe meeting, David North focused on job creation. ‘The challenge for Tesco is that these should be careers that we’re developing, not just jobs.’
North also highlighted Tesco schemes to help unemployed people get work.
