Siemens brings in M: to advise on financial comms

David Quainton 13-Sep-07

Electronics firm Siemens has brought in M: Communications on a huge financial brief.

M: will advise on London and UK financial comms for the German conglomerate, which has undergone significant senior management changes in the past year. Earlier this year Siemens CEO Klaus Kleinfeld announced he was leaving amid pressure from trade unions in Germany.

He has since been replaced by Peter Löscher.

‘The appointment follows senior management changes at Siemens and a desire of Löscher to strengthen links with financial and media audiences,’ said M: co-founder Hugh Morrison who heads the account.

Morrison reports to Dr Stephan Heimbach, director of corporate communications. M:Communication’s appointment followed a competitive pitch process that started at the beginning of the summer.

Siemens is one of Europe’s largest companies and has a market capitalisation approaching £70bn. The company has more than 450,000 employees.
