'Boris is serious' brief for InHouse
The prize for most searingly difficult PR job of the month goes to the good people of InHouse PR, who have taken on the task of convincing London's electorate that Boris Johnson is actually a serious politician.
The gaffe-prone Conservative - the Tory nomination for London Mayor - is renowned for being a one-man political version of the Chuckle Brothers, but with a more colourful sexual history.
The ex-Conservative Central Office duo that run InHouse - Jo Tanner and Kate Perrior - admit they have a 'huge' challenge on their hands, although Perrior described the nascent campaign as 'the most fun I've had in years'.
Diary notes that when InHouse was launched last year, it was with the promise of 'low-budget' expertise.
If the attitude of the press office at Conservative Central Office is anything to go by, Johnson needs all the help he can get. When we asked for a picture of the now former shadow minister for higher education, one hurried staffer said 'Boris isn't our responsibility'.
