James Blunt and the Golden Goose

Diary was surprised to see a familiar face in last Monday's edition of thelondonpaper - none other than Golden Goose PR co-founder Miki Watson, papped leaving London nightspot Boujis with James Blunt.

The paper described her as Blunt's 'ladyfriend' and claimed that Watson helped shield 'unlikely lothario' Blunt from waiting paps by 'diving on top of him'.

But a quick call to Watson reveals a slightly different story. She tells us the charming crooner is simply a 'good friend of a friend of mine', before adding incongruously: 'James Blunt's new album comes out on 17 September.'

However, Watson does observe: 'What is embarrassing as a PRO is that it looks like no one at thelondonpaper knows who I am. She quickly adds that gossip editor Luke Blackhall was 'away that day'.
