Brown videos put pressure on G8
Brown study: 800 in the UK
Save the Children is targeting Gordon Browns around the country in a bid to drum up publicity for a campaign.
It is producing a series of video clips that it hopes will put the issue of healthcare in sub-Saharan Africa high on the agenda at the G8 summit.
The charity is travelling the country producing video clips of Gordon Browns in the UK. The videos are being hosted on the microsite www.savethechildren.org.uk/gordon, YouTube and MySpace. The charity is encouraging others among the politician’s 800 namesakes to upload their own pictures.
Head of PR Rosie Jordan said: ‘Gordon Brown has already said yes to free healthcare in Africa. This campaign is to say that we support him but we want him to keep his promise. We want to make sure he uses his influence at the G8 summit.’
Free healthcare in Africa could save 800 children a day. The G8 are UK, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Japan, Canada and the US.
