US software firm picks Whiteoaks

Deltek Systems, provider of project management software to large organisations, has signed up The Whiteoaks Consultancy as its first UK agency, after a hotly contested pitch.

The hire comes ahead of an aggressive business drive in Britain by the US-based company, which is headed by ex-PeopleSoft finance chief Kevin Parker.

Deltek notched up record revenues of £56m for the six months to the end of June 2006, a 62 per cent year-on-year increase. It has recently launched a number of new products and has grown to 1,000 employees globally.

Whiteoaks triumphed in a five-way pitch. Associate director Laura Slade will lead the account.
