Ex-Sun ed to drive queuing systems
Former Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie has joined QM Group, the provider of queuing system technology for banks, supermarkets and the Post Office, as a non-executive director with a PR brief.
'The truth is media and retail are different sides of the same coin,' MacKenzie told PRWeek. 'Readers and shoppers are basically the same people.'
MacKenzie's role involves liaising with QM's incumbent PR firm, Manchester-based Powell Communications.
He was introduced to QM by Advantage Capital, its private equity backer.
QM's systems can be found in branches of Woolworths, Boots and the Royal Bank of Scotland.
