Axon announces expansion plans
Ian Hall 09-Mar-04
Former Burson-Marsteller UK healthcare chief Ralph Sutton plans to grow his new agency, Axon Communications, to 30 staff within three years by targeting ‘comms opportunities’ surrounding clinical trials.
Sutton, who left B-M last year (PRWeek, 3 July 2003), said Axon also envisaged handling corporate comms and public affairs remits in the ‘longer term’.
‘Pharma companies make huge investment in the trials process – many don’t get credit for this,’ said Sutton, who launched Axon’s six-strong UK office last October as managing partner.
He has since hired staff including director Clare Lucker from Avenue HKM.
Axon is a subsidiary of Canada’s National Public Relations and has clients including Merck & Co.
