PR fee income is rising, according to IPREX survey

Public relations agencies experienced a 27 per cent jump in fee income last year and anticipate further growth in 1997, according to a survey by PR network IPREX.
Public relations agencies experienced a 27 per cent jump in fee
income last year and anticipate further growth in 1997, according to a
survey by PR network IPREX.
The survey was co-ordinated by IPREX’s US member Borshoff Johnson and Co
and sampled the 55 companies within the group across 18 countries at the
end of last year. On average, they predicted revenue growth of 16.4 per
cent this year and a staff increase of three.
Highest reported growth last year came from Tretter Group in St Louis,
which claimed a 87 per cent rise in fees. Pro and Co in Vienna saw the
lowest increase at five per cent.
This year Quantum Leap Communications in Madrid anticipates a 40 per
cent jump in revenue, while The Rountree Group in Atlanta - which ended
its work for the Olympic Games last year - forecasts a modest five per
cent increase.
