Waggener Edstrom launches in Africa
Waggener Edstrom has extended its business with key global client Microsoft into Africa and is using the new win to launch its first office on the continent. To service the account, Waggener Edstrom has hired Marcus Sorour to head a new, wholly-owned office in Johannesburg, South Africa. Sorour, who joins Wag-Ed's EMEA board, arrives from Text 100 South Africa.
Johnson King's new research shows that almost 40 per cent of b2b tech marketing pros do not consider Twitter to be a valuable marketing tool.
The study demonstrated that attitudes towards the microblogging service remain sharply divided. Almost half (47 per cent) think Twitter will become a key part of comms strategies, while 24 per cent think it will disappear.
Media Safari has been appointed by Nanopoint, the UK subsidiary of leading IT peripherals producers MaxPoint and Raidsonic. The PR campaign will aim to raise awareness of its new range of keyboards and peripherals.
Hot Tin Roof has been appointed to lead a national PR strategy for Scottish digital agency Civic. Hot Tin Roof will execute a campaign across traditional and digital media platforms, designed to help Civic increase its market share in the private sector and explore opportunities outside Scotland.
Byte Night, the IT industry's charity sleep-out event, has selected Bite Communications to run its PR campaign during 2010. Running over a nine-month period, the project will culminate in Byte Night's annual October event when IT professionals bed down for a night's sleep in the great outdoors to raise money for Action for Children, a charity that supports young people who are at risk of homelessness.
