NatWest Markets, the troubled investment banking arm of National
Westminster Bank, has brought in Gina Fanning as its new head of UK
media relations.
Fanning, who replaces Denise Coupe, joins from financial PR agency
Polhill Communications. She will be part of a 12-strong communications
team and will report to the head of corporate communications Patricia
Hamzahee.
Fanning joins at a crucial time as the NatWest Group is preparing to
review the NatWest Markets business. It is considering cutting back on
the capital it allocates to NatWest Markets following reported losses of
over pounds 70 million this year.
Fanning said: ’I have been brought on board to work closely with
business audiences and to ensure that the press still know about the
strengths of the business.’
