Hampshire Police Authority communications officer Richard Andrews has joined the University of Chichester, keeping the same job title. He is also a member of the CIPR Local Public Services Group committee.
Cabinet Office permanent secretary of government communications Matt Tee has revealed that the number of press officers working in government has increased by more than 72 per cent over the past ten years. Giving evidence to the Commons Public Administration Committee on 14 January, Tee cited the rise of the internet, the move from reactive to proactive public relations and the emergence of internal communications as reasons for the increase.
