NatWest Markets, the investment arm of NatWest Group, has appointed an
associate director and head of media relations - one of three new
communications recruits.
Denise Coupe, head of media relations for the Japanese investment firm
Nomura International, will join NatWest Market’s ten-strong corporate
communications team in July. The job reports to director of corporate
communications Patricia Hamzahee.
Hamzahee said Coupe will work with senior management to develop a media
relations programme and assist overseas branches which don’t have a
dedicated PR resource.
Coupe’s departure from Nomura is the latest in a series of changes in
that company’s communications. Paul Kafka, Nomura’s former director of
corporate communications, left in January, to be replaced by Stephen
Jolley (PR Week, 22 March)..
Other recruits to NatWest Markets’ communications team are Steve Colton,
former PR manager for NatWest Group, who has joined as media relations
manager and Carol Goodsman, from the Treasurer magazine, who started
this week as assistant manager, advertising and marketing.
Hamzahee, who arrived at NatWest Markets last summer, said the
appointments were part of an effort to hire more experienced
communications staff.
