NEWS: UK firms take out four IPRA awards

Four UK agencies took honours at the 1996 International Public Relations Association (IPRA) Golden World Awards this month.

Four UK agencies took honours at the 1996 International Public Relations

Association (IPRA) Golden World Awards this month.



The awards, which this year attracted a record 176 entries, produced 25

winners over 18 different categories.



The United Nations sponsored award went to The Communication Group for

its work on the Gestetner Schools Scheme last year.



Shandwick Consultants won the international prize for its campaign to

promote NatWest’s Mondex system.



Two other Shandwick agencies won awards: Welbeck/ Golin Harris won the

public service award for the Crime-stoppers scheme, while Para-gon won a

marketing award for its promotion of Somerfield’s fruit and vegetable

range.



IPRA’s overall award went to The Rowland Company in New York.
