Government Equalities Office hires new head of strategic comms

The Government Equalities Office has appointed Georgia Broome to the role of interim head of strategic communications.

In her new role, she will head up a team of five and will be responsible for development of the department's communications strategy.

Broome has extensive experience working within the public sector. She has previously worked as strategic communications manager at the Financial Services Authority.

She also spent time at Ofgem as head of internal communications, digital and print and at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport as a senior press officer. 

She replaces Nichola Yorke who has gone to the Department of Health to take up the role of deputy director of communications.
