Flack: 3 Monkeys' party
PR Week UK, Friday, 29 January 2010, 12:00am,
Flack enjoyed sipping free Champagne (although the Cava wasn't free!) at 3 Monkeys' party at South Kensington's Firehouse last week.
Spotted propping up the bar was speccy politics-dabbling Blur drummer Dave Rowntree. But we were shocked to see a well-known tech journalist sucking face with a lady in red at the highly inappropriate time of 7.30pm.
Get a room! ... Hats off to Plum Consulting founder Sally Ward, who has landed the - ahem - plum job of Porter Novelli UK MD, replacing the outgoing Jean Wyllie. And how did Sally get the gig? Why, she was handling the recruitment process herself. Flack has no doubt she interviewed herself with the utmost rigour ... Our activist side came out at Editorial Intelligence's debate on feminism and porn culture. But we were not sure that Sasha Rakoff, director of Object, was correct when she asserted '80 per cent of men use prostitutes'. If so, lock up your husbands, ladies ... When Finn Communications pitched a story for ice cream client Skinny Cow on how shopping is actually beneficial for health, it was expecting some top hits in the nationals. Unfortunately, so was Debenhams, which went with the exact same story, on the exact same day. Finn assured us there were no hard feelings and shipped some Skinny Cow treats over to Debenhams' PR department, which returned the favour with a £50 gift voucher.
