Saga Services, the financial services division of the Saga Group
which is best known for selling holidays to the over-50s, has appointed
Hill and Knowlton after a four-way pitch earlier this month.
The agency’s marketing communications division has been initially hired
to handle the launch of Saga’s high interest deposit account, the
company’s first move into the mainstream savings market, this month.
A spokeswoman for Saga said: ’The short term PR plan is to make sure we
keep the impetus behind the deposit account going. In the long term
we’re reassessing our PR needs and Hill and Knowlton might fit into that
plan.’
The Saga Group provides services tailored to the over-50s, including
home insurance, credit cards, holidays, home gas supplies, home shopping
and TESSAs and PEPs. Its magazine, Saga Magazine, has an estimated
circulation of one million and readership of two million, making it the
best-selling title for that age group.
