NEWS: Shandwick Scotland gains control of UK regional network
LEXIE GODDARD, PR Week UK, Friday, 20 September 1996, 12:00am,
Shandwick International has handed overall control of its UK regional network to its Scottish office.
Shandwick International has handed overall control of its UK regional
network to its Scottish office.
Shandwick Scotland head Helen McCree has been promoted to the new
position of MD of its regional PR business in Scotland, Northern Ireland
and the north of England.
According to McCree the new structure, finalised last week, is designed
to provide clients with a co-ordinated approach rather than having to
deal with individual agencies.
‘Clients will not have to duplicate briefings and can cut down on travel
between consultancies,’ she added.
The switch from isolated regional operations to consolidation under
McCree came about as the result of a survey conducted by the agency.
It found that half of companies questioned said they would benefit from
a PR consultancy offering regional representation while having an
integrated national operation.
Offices across the UK will be computer-linked at the end of September
via Shandnet, allowing offices to transfer documents between agencies.
Shandwick has regional offices in Aberdeen, Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow,
Leeds and Manchester and an associate agency, Haslimann Taylor in
Birmingham.
Cree will be replaced as managing director of Shandwick Scotland by
director John Gerrie.
Account directors Graeme Jack and Ewan Hunter have been promoted to the
board of Shandwick Scotland, based in Glasgow.
