Countrywide Communications scooped most honours in this year’s PRCA Awards for Outstanding Consultancy Practice.
Countrywide Communications scooped most honours in this year’s PRCA
Awards for Outstanding Consultancy Practice.
The agency won four of the 11 awards, which were selected from a record
113 entries.
Christopher McDowall, the PRCA’s new director, said the reduction in the
number of awards given, from 33 last year to just 11, did not reflect a
reduction in quality.
‘The standard this year was outstanding,’ he said, ‘indeed much higher
than last year. We have reduced the number purely to make the awards
more meaningful.’
Countrywide won the awards for the 1995 Skoda consumer PR launch; ICI
Polyurethane’s crisis communications; Investors in People Week; and
coronary prevention work for pharmaceutical firm Bristol-Myers Squibb.
Other winners included Lansons Communications, for its work for Singer
and Friedlander on the acquisition of Knight Williams Funds, and for IFA
Promotion’s TaxAction ’95 campaign.
Other awards went to: Kartupelis Associates for a launch on behalf of
Ciba Agriculture; Charles Barker, for its promotion of Saatchi and
Saatchi Advertising; GCI for the launch of the Royal Bank of Scotland
Advanta credit card; CTN/ Burson-Marsteller, for its trial run of
British Airways TV; and Edelman PR for the launch of SC Johnson Wax’s
Raid range.
Commendations went to Consolidated Communications; Manning, Selvage and
Lee; Sandpiper; Lansons; Firefly; Westminster Communications; Paragon;
The Rowland Company; Biss Lancaster; GCI; Cohn and Wolfe and Charles
Barker.
The awards ceremony will take place on 30 August at the Strand Palace
Hotel.
