Scottish Power tasks Bright Blue Day with direct marketing account

LONDON - Scottish Power has appointed Bright Blue Day to handle its direct marketing account, following a three-way pitch handled by creativebrief.
Bright Blue Day pitched against Baber Smith and the incumbent, Tangible. The agency will work alongside Scottish Power's existing agencies, which includes Newhaven, its above-the-line agency and Lewis Creative Consultants, which handles the brand's digital work.
The review of the account kicked off in June with the utilities company looking for a fresh approach to its traditional direct marketing campaigns, such as direct mail packs, door-drops and page inserts.
Scottish Power said that it continues to work with Tangible across a number of areas of the business.
The brand, which is owned by the Spanish utility giant Iberdrola, has around five million gas and electricity customers across the UK.
