PR Week UK, Friday, 11 December 2009, 12:00am,
Lewis to promote Eurocloud across Europe.
EuroCloud, Europe's first software-as-a-service 'business community', has appointed Lewis PR to launch its brand in the UK and seven other European markets. The software deployment service will be promoted through a combination of traditional PR and social media. The campaign will run for three months and will promote the concept of cloud computing.
Golden Gekko, the mobile applications developer, and The Foundry, a visual effects house, have handed their accounts to digital media and technology specialist agency IF Communications.
The news follows the announcement that two new staff members have joined the agency. Lisa Devaney, a former journalist, has joined as a consultant and Cordelia Meacher, a former Brunswick employee, as director.
Samsung has taken on Scotland-based gaming and digital media agency Ink Media to assist with the launch of its new application store in the UK. The agency will help the electronics giant raise the profile of the store through a series of carefully targeted websites.
Activision, the video game developer, has seen the largest increase in coverage of all technology companies during November, a study from Apollo Research has found. The jump in coverage has been attributed to the launch of popular video game Modern Warfare 2. Mobile phone company Orange featured second in the research with Microsoft's XBox taking the third slot.
Cohn & Wolfe has lured Chad Latz from Ketchum to lead the agency's global digital practice. Latz will report directly to Cohn & Wolfe CEO Donna Imperato. He previously led the integration and establishment of Ketchum Digital during a ten-year career with the agency.
