Flack: (Saving) on Expenses - The Loft, Clapham, London SW4
PR Week UK, Friday, 04 December 2009, 12:00am,
Reviever Suzy Dee Holland, PR director, Touch Media.
What is it good for?
The Loft is an ideal place to spend your evenings, whether having dinner in the restaurant with a client or sampling the extensive cocktail menu with friends. The focus of the venue is the impressive bar, while the restaurant itself provides a private dining space that is good for business meetings.
Signature dish
We chose the spiced parsnip soup and pan fried squid to start, and goulash with dumplings and corn fed chicken with gnocchi and creamy white wine sauce for the main. Desserts include the millionaire shortcake cheesecake, which was very good.
Who's the boss?
The head chef is Marienne Wit and the maitre d' is Sara Carmifnani.
Tips please
Make sure you book in advance.
What's the damage?
The 50 per cent a la carte menu is valid on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and early doors Friday (before 7pm). The main dishes range from £9.50-£17.50 and a good choice of wine will cost around £17.
67 Clapham High Street, London SW4 7TG 020 7627 0792.
