LONDON - Airport operator BAA has signed a deal with Lufthansa which will allow members of the airline's Miles & More loyalty programme earn miles when they shop at BAA airports.
From 1 December, Miles & More members travelling via BAA's UK airports - London Heathrow, London Stansted, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Southampton - will earn WorldPoints on their airport shopping.
Once they have earned 250 WorldPoints they can exchange these for Miles & More award miles.
Furthermore, from early next year Miles & More members can redeem their miles for WorldPoints airport shopping vouchers.
‘This is the first time airline loyalty programme members have been able to redeem their miles for airport shopping vouchers,' said John Holland-Kaye commercial director at BAA.
Members of Miles & More can gain points when flying with Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, SWISS, Brussels Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Adria, Croatia Airlines, Air Dolomiti and Luxair.
The scheme also has a cooperation agreement with Star Alliance.
