PR Week UK, Friday, 27 November 2009, 12:00am,
1. World Toilet Day (no, really) saw the toilets in Hyde Park transformed into some of the most squalid, hellish loos in the world by WaterAid.
Shadow secretary for international development Andrew Mitchell looks nervous as he pops in for a wee. That'll be the maggots, stagnant stream and unique scent, then.
2. EdenCancan has been appointed by Live Nation and Jeff Wayne to promote Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds: Alive on Stage 2010. Based on Wayne's hit 1978 album, the show features a waxwork-looking Jason Donovan sporting an interesting 'tache/sideburns combo. EdenCancan MD Nick Fulford said: 'One of the perks of this job is when you get to meet childhood heroes.'
3. To celebrate its 21st anniversary, Lehmann Communications sponsored a 'Friends of the Elderly' reception at St James' Palace in the presence of HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. We hope Prince Philip was on his usual, er, best behaviour.
