The Incorporated Society of British Advertisers (ISBA) has hired The
Communication Group as its public affairs consultancy to help highlight
the contribution which advertisers make to the economy.
Set up in 1900, ISBA supports the interests of firms which use
advertising as part of their marketing strategies. Its 300 corporate
members, which include most of the UK’s top companies spend around
pounds 5 billion on marketing communications each year.
Director general John Hooper said that TCG would initially work on a
six-month brief to raise the profile of ISBA among politicians and the
media and stress the importance of advertising in creating jobs and
expanding business.
‘They will help us galvanise our member base and reinforce our authority
as representatives of advertisers,’ said Hooper. He added that the
contract would probably be extended beyond the initial six months, to
include European Union work as well.
APCO and Edelman also pitched for the business.
