- EveryChild director of fundraising and comms Matthew Sherrington is to join The Good Agency as strategy director.
He joins at the end of the year in what will be his first agency role. He has spent more than 20 years in marketing and leadership in the fundraising sector, including 14 years with Oxfam International and four years as fundraising director for Greenpeace in the US.
- GamCare, a charity for problem gamblers, has signed boxing champion Chris Eubank to be the charity's first ambassador. Eubank offered pictures to the media at the charity's annual conference this week.
- Cancer Research UK has added a new event to its fundraising portfolio. This week the charity launched 'Shine', a night-time walking marathon. Participants can choose which type of cancer research their funds go towards.
- The Social Care Institute for Excellence has launched an online TV service to stimulate debate about the big issues in the social care sector. It will use this medium to promote best practice across the sector. The channel offers a range of 'on-demand' films that aim to bring real world examples of social care issues to social care staff, managers, commissioners and trainers. Each page also includes guidance, advice and e-learning resources.
