LONDON - Burton's Foods has confirmed that it has appointed Ben Clarke as chief executive.
The news follows Marketing's report (9 September) that Clarke, the former vice-president and area director for Kraft Foods, was poised to join Burton's Foods in a senior management role.
During his tenure at Kraft in the UK, Clarke oversaw the repositioning of the Dairylea brand as a healthier product, and the decision to drop comedian Dawn French from ads for Terry's Chocolate Orange
Brian Buchan, chairman of Burton's Foods said: ‘His appointment comes at a time when the company has successfully completed a restructure of its balance sheet, providing a great platform from which to develop the business for future growth.'
He replaces Paul Kitchener who has stepped down due to ill health.
