Guinness in pack redesign
Marketing, Tuesday, 29 September 2009, 12:00am,
Diageo is revamping the primary and outer packaging for its Guinness Draught cans as it seeks to gain standout in the run-up to Christmas, backed by a £5m spend.
The redesigned pack will feature a 'seal of approval' signature by Arthur Guinness, and a 'draught' message under the brand name to differentiate it from other variants.
The can also carries a three-step guide to the 'perfect serve', informing consumers of the correct temperature, time and tilt at which to serve the beer.
Guinness is outperforming the beer market in the off-trade by 9% in volume and 4% in value terms, according to Nielsen.
